Place has been open since around 1994 and you can definitely tell. Not many interior updates have happened since then. The service was mediocre, not that southern charm you always hear about but not awful. The food though....FANTASTIC. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese "burger" with a side of hash browns. If it were legally binding...I would've married that sandwich, had babies, and then eat the babies.

This is a laid-back kind of homey place. Comfortable, unpretentious and perfect for an early breakfast. Friendly and accommodating. Try the blueberry pancakes, with fresh blueberries!

Never disappointed here. Perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. This is a diner so if you come with that expectation you will not be disappointed. Great food and reasonable prices.

I had some of the best huevos con chorizo for breakfast here!!!! The homemade ranchero sauce and corn tortillas were freaking awesome!!! I tasted the french toast and it was great too. I'm going back again in the morning for the same breakfast. The atmosphere is greasy spoon.

I had the omelet special. Bacon, mozzarella mushrooms omlet. Grits and toast. I ordered and 2 min later the food was there. Two thumbs up to the cook! Good food at a good price

No one at my table had a bad meal but no one really enjoyed the meal. The menu is a little uninspired which could be part of the reason for the lack of a 'wow factor'. If you are looking for an affordable and relaxing diner breakfast without the crowds this is a good choice, especially for families.

Food and service were great, a little hidden but worth it. They made a special pancake for our daughter and didn't charge us. Chocolate chip pancakes were pretty dam good.

Not impressed. Very little AC. There were 7 of us. Breakfast and onion rings are the best. I don't know who thought this could get 4 stars. Bad choice on our part. Won't go back.

Just had lunch here,, outstanding! Don't be discouraged by it being a bit tucked away and harder to find. Also it's basic diner look, not a fancy look but the food makes up for it. Great service and the onion rings are a must have!! Even if you just like onion rings. They make them to order, slice and bread and fry. No frozen crap. The shrimp quesadillas is really great and the BLT has a ton fresh made bacon. It's so fresh it's still a bit warm. So far it's the best lunch I've had on the island.

I was looking for some yummy food. I asked around and everybody raved! This place is delicious I even met the owner Ray. Shrimp Po Boys to die for. If you have nothing else have the onion rings!

Awesome service! Thanks for a great breakfast. It's kind if a diner type restaurant. Your drink will never hit the bottom and they are very attentive. Will definitely be a staple on our Sunday breakfast stops.

We came for breakfast and ordered cheesy grits, and breakfast burritos with choice of toppings. Service was fast, food was delicious- try the spicy salsa! It is very unique and really gave the burrito a kick. Prices were very reasonable. A great find!!!

Great place...friendly staff and very clean. Went out of their way to make Mickey Mouse pancakes for our kids. Also their Pancakes are fantastic! Will definitely go back again next time we're in town.

Absolutely delicious! Fabulous overall dining experience! Exceptional service, Ray even came out and chatted with us! We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful Hilton Head weather. They were very accommodating to all the additions we requested. The rancheros sauce is to DIE for! Very flavorful and perfectly spicy! I had the huevos rancheros and my husband had the egg and cheese burrito with a side of rancheros sauce. The hash browns were the BEST we've had! Perfectly browned and crisp! This was not our first visit to Ray's and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Hilton Head. Thank you Ray's for treating us like family!

A nice little cafe! I had the Philly cheese steak (amazing) and the onion rings (the best I've ever had)! The onion rings were tossed in flour and seasonings right in front of me at the counter. The staff was very nice and attentive. Ray's is a must for out of towners like me!

Ignore Rick G' - They have great food here and their staff is super friendly. I was there when he was and Ray even offered to waive the check because he didn't want to charge someone if they weren't happy with their meal. This guy was crazy. Heck read his other reviews.

Had breakfast here and it was great. Very affordable and portions were large. I ordered a burrito with eggs, cheese, mushrooms and onions. The cheese was melted and very good. Not fancy, not flashy but good food for a good price.

We decided to stop at Ray's for lunch on a Saturday. What a pleasant surprise. We both had burgers. They may well be the best burgers we have had on Hilton Head. The onions rings were among the best we have ever had. The restaurant is not fancy. In fact, it is well worn. But, the place was clean. The food was great. The service was fast and friendly. We will return.

Typical diner atmosphere, so we didn't expect much. But we were surprised at our great breakfast. We both had custom burritos (pick your ingredients). We sat at the bar and watched it get cooked. The stack of pancakes were good as well. No extra fluff on the plate, just tasty food. Nice cook and waitress but I'm guessing they're newly open. We only found this place because it was listed on Yelp (with no reviews).

I have to be honest...eating here was NOT my choice and I was a little worried when we pulled in but became pleasantly surprised when my meal came! I had a blackened shrimp quesadilla and it was delicious and perfectly cooked! The kids all had corn dogs and they got two FULL corn dogs plus fries for like $7! Great value for the amount and quality of food. Service was great as well and our drinks were always full.

We just had the worst breakfast ever. My wife ordered and egg, cheese and sausage burrito and grease was literally dripping from it. I ordered 2 eggs with bacon and hash browns. The eggs were swimming in grease as were the hash browns. It came with one small piece of toast and was not worth $7.75. I was never asked how the food was and we left it on the table and just went to pay the bill. At that time I did complain and the cook came over to me and told me to get the f out of his place. WOW what a ni8ghtmare, never again!!!

Since writing my review, I have introduced my parents to Ray's. They also love the friendly atmosphere and delicious food. All three of us go there on a regular basis when we're looking for a nice, affordable, quick meal!!
